Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY)

About KVPY:-

The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is an on-going National Program of Fellowship in Basic Sciences, initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, to attract exceptionally highly motivated students for pursuing basic science courses and research career in science.

It is hereby notified to students of class 11 and class 12 of science stream that last date to apply for KVPY is October 5, 2020.

Eligibility:-

Following students can apply for KVPY:-

• Indian students studying in India.
• Stream SA: Students studying in Class 11 with at least 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) in Maths and Science subjects 10 board examination.
• Stream SX: Students studying in Class 12 with at least 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) in Maths and Science subjects in Class 10 board examination.
• Stream SB: For students currently in 1st year B.Sc. / B.S. /B.Stat. /B.Math. /Int. M.Sc. /Int. M.S. with at least 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects (Physics/Chemistry/Biology)  in the XII Board.

*Note:-

• The applications can only be made online.
• Students already receiving any scholarship or grant, are not eligible for this fellowship.

Benefits:-

Selected students will get the following benefits for SA/SX/SB stream, the selected fellow will receive a monthly stipend of INR 5,000 and an annual contingency grant of INR 20,000 during 1st to 3rd years of BSc/ BS/ B.Stat./ B.Math./ MS/ Integrated MS.

Selection criteria :-

Applicants will be selected on the following grounds:-

• Application form by selection round.
• Aptitude test round: An aptitude test will be conducted in Hindi and English language on 31st January 2021.
